In this episode Michael and Stephanie discuss the weird radio bursts from FRB 180916.J0158+65 that are repeating every 16 days. Is it aliens? Specifically, there are one or two bursts every hour for four days before going silent for 12 days. It then repeats.
It's originating from a the spiral galaxy known as SDSS J015800.28+654253.0, nearly 500 million years away, meaning this signal originated more than 500 million years ago. This is actually the closest FRB ever detected.
