hello hello! 

thank you for being here. i'm very grateful to be here too :) 

recently in this past year, i've been learning how to make friends, what i like and don't like, how to say no again, basically how to be myself again after deciding to be sober and being committed to taking care of my mental health. it's not a straight line in terms of learning and applying those lessons to my life, but it's important that i take a moment to fully realize that all of the old ways that i used to do things just won't work anymore. that includes interrogating all of the limitations that other people have put on me and why i felt i had to believe those limitations. i talk about a lot - why the adult/child power dynamic is so intense in regards to this, why realizing that the very vast majority of people do not have my best interest at heart has been weirdly liberating, and how reading Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi has been a great book in this time of my life.
