The first 16 words, of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America are: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." (the rest of the Amendment reads as follows: "...or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.") But it's those first 16 words that is the focus of Ep #194.
The phrase "separation of church and state" does not appear in the Constitution... but it would seem as if the "idea" certainly does! However, some Americans are looking to do away with that idea.
