Ellis Palmer, a journalist and Producer on BBC Radio 5 Live and World Service. Ellis joined the BBC World Online team as a journalist in 2017, having previously worked at Sky Sports. He later moved to Newshour on the World Service as a producer, and recently joined the production team at 5 Live Breakfast. He has also spent time presenting in front of camera for various BBC output, with a particular focus on digital-first content and mobile journalism innovation. He’s originally from Merseyside in northern England, Ellis lives with cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user. Prior to joining the BBC in 2017, Ellis studied political science and languages at the universities of Birmingham and Barcelona, with a Masters in Nationalism and Current Democracies in his third language at Barcelona’s Pompeu Fabra University. He is a Catalan and Spanish speaker, a Manchester City season ticket holder and, in lockdown, Ellis has cycled over 5,000 kilometres around his hometown.
