On this week's episode we hear from my friend Ellyn Parker, Public Art Director for the city of Richmond, Virginia. Ellyn is a self-styled "accidental bureaucrat" who has been a tremendous help to me over the years in working with the San Francisco city government (we are both recent Economic Refugee's from the Bay Area).
We speak with Ellyn about her involvement in bringing an amazing public art project called Sunset Piano to the heart of San Francisco's Tenderloin District, some technical tips on how to use the power of the piano to activate spaces in your city, and what are some best practices for coordinating with local governments to bring your crazy idea to life.
