Episode Two was supposed to be an in depth look at football as it was first codified in Melbourne in the 1850s, in an effort to begin the search for the golden game we're always harking back to. However,  what actually happens is, John is thwarted in this quest by Ian who has to get off his chest the ideas that Australian Football is: a mish mash of inherent flaws, an arrogant, imperialistic endeavor and that it's not, after all, the great game it is cracked up to be. Dad's Army and Waiting for Godot are in there somewhere too. Nice.
