In the early 1990s, Charleston, SC was terrorized by a serial rapist. Dubbed the Lowcountry rapist, he was suspected of assaulting 27 women over a two year period; however, even after his capture in 1992, the Lowcountry rapists' victims would be dragged through hell for many years afterwards.
