Listen Later

In Episode 2 of The Unapology Letter, I share my journey as a former Division I cross-country runner, tracing my love for the sport back to seventh grade and my transition from competitive soccer to running in high school. I open up about the highs and lows of my athletic career, from personal records and scholarship dreams to battling recurrent injuries, including two femoral stress fractures, that ultimately ended my competitive running at the collegiate level. I candidly reflect on the impact of these experiences on my relationship with food, body image, and identity. Navigating the physical and emotional challenges, I take listeners through my journey of rediscovering myself without the title of “runner.” Now, running brings me a sense of peace, resilience, and gratitude as I continue to embrace its role in my life beyond competition. Tune in for an honest conversation on identity, struggle, and growth that many athletes—and anyone facing a life-altering transition—will find relatable.
