Bjorn Beijnon (UvA) interviews Nicolle Lamerichs who obtained a PhD in Media Studies in 2014.  Currently working at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, Nicolle elaborates on how her PhD in fandom and poaching of pop culture has helped her to build a career as an academic. Besides giving tips on working as a researcher in various academic institutes, Nicolle also gives tips on working as a research consultant from her experiences at LEGO and Efteling.
