Episode: 2
Title: Saint or Sinner
Subtitle: What to make of the Rockabilly Priest

In this episode of [Confessions of a Wedding Photographer], we discuss the shock death of one of Perth’s most popular priests and the shocking allegations that followed. This episode might be distressing for some listeners and child abuse survivors. Listener discretion is advised.
The death of the priest was a shock. We heard about the death first then about the allegations made against him. This podcast won’t mention him by name out of respect for the alleged victim or victims and the people who still believe in his innocence.
Having shot over 30 plus weddings that he officiated I thought he was kind, charismatic and gentle. The shocking allegations that followed took me by surprise because I always felt like he was gay. The rockabilly Elvis hair and the same jokes at every wedding followed by the bottle of wine gift made him likeable and pushed aside my distrust of catholic priests.
Taking his own life, according to the West Australian newspaper and I quote by “Seppuku” pushing a kitchen knife into his stomach. This left a ton of unanswered questions. Was he guilty of the child sex abuse allegations? The investigation was close by police quickly following his death? What does it mean for his followers? The church? Are there further victims? Should there or is there going to be further investigations.
We discuss our own personal thoughts and reflect on how this has affected the clients and the images we took of the priest.

This weeks wedding question is:
Question: Instagram message from Katie : My mother hates my mother in law. They don’t like each other and can't bear to be in the same room as each other. How do we manage the day so that they can be in the same room and photos as each other without starting a massive fight on our wedding day. The Dad’s get along fine but our Mum’s make it hard. Can you give us some advice?
