Episode 2: Surprise

The July 19, 2016 nomination of Donald Trump as a major-party candidate for President of the United States destabilized my world. I say this not as a point of pride, but as a matter of fact. It took months to find a new equilibrium, and it was my decade-old practice of yoga that finally got me there, but it took time.  Combining Hatha (physical) yoga practice with reflections on Patanjali’s classic Yoga Sutras, layered stages of yogic introspection led me back to steadiness in the world as I find it, the ultimate purpose of yoga.
