If writing about music was truly like dancing about architecture, then Jack Truman was a gifted programmer who saw coding like travel writing about the Otherworld. That was because he was pretty sure he had once lived there and was desperate to get back. For him, life as a software tester in lockdown was enough to drive him mad, even if the gods —or any other immortal for that matter — really had loved him, once. And, he was pretty sure they had, until he saw the message from Mara Darkmage.
