Episode 2: What is Petty
Today’s guest is my friend Crystal. Her ex-husband gained custody of their two young girls in the divorce process.
She was unprepared at the way the court viewed home educators and stay at home wives. She believed that because she invested so much in taking care of the family, she did’t think she needed a good lawyer. She relied on her Christian background and believed that simply telling the truth would be of benefit to her.
We go through the official definitions of some of the words used to describe betrayed women. Words like petty, un-dignified, and bitter. We compare these definitions with the reality of the circumstances. Crystal's contention is that it is people that load more into the meaning of bitter and petty than the definition describes. During the discussion we also unpack our feelings as to how these negative labels are generally directed toward women.
