Hello and welcome to our second episode. We want to say thank you to those who gave us feedback on last week’s episode. We’re taking your comments on board as we wish to bring you a podcast that helps you find better ways to live with ADHD or any other neurodivergences. We ranked 191st in Apple podcasts Mental Health category and we are very proud to be on the list and we look forward to slowly climbing the ranks as we build a show with an ethos of community, sharing and support.
Our aim is to inspire us all to be living our best lives regardless of our neurodivergence and what better way to do that than share our knowledge and experiences so no matter how our divergence gets in the way, you know that you are not alone and nor are you broken in any way.
In today’s episode we are Wrestling with Motivation- a very common issue for neurodivergents. One that has more layers than an onion as well as bring tears to our eyes. Our struggles with motivation can be incredibly debilitating to our productivity and perhaps more significantly, to our sense of self-worth. Motivation is one of those issues of neurodivergence that is severely misunderstood, leaving us being labelled as lazy, uncaring, thoughtless, or unsympathetic. Worse still, how do we defend ourselves when sometimes motivation is so easy?
We shine some light on motivation, what it is and why we might struggle with it. We share our own personal experiences with motivation as we explore various methods that can give us a better chance of, well, motivating ourselves when needed.
We recorded this conversation back in March of this year while we were still finding our feet in recording podcasts though as always, we welcome your feedback on how we can continue to improve the show. So wherever you are and however your listening, we hope you enjoy the show.
