Carter meets a patient and her husband who will change his life (guest star Red Buttons) and Susan faces a Christmas with Cookie (no thank you!)

Mark faces his first holidays separated from Jen, and feels the struggle. However, he too meets a patient who helps him see the wood for the trees, and capture some of the meaning of Hanukkah. In other news, Benton smiles and the world almost collapses!
