Ben Allen taught business law at Humboldt State University for 22 years and didn't enter into the spiritual life until his fifties. He is now a shamanic practitioner and joyful elder, serving the Humboldt Community by co-hosting a monthly shamanic healing circle. In this conversation, we discuss Ben’s journey to wholeness, psychic abilities and astral travel, the wisdom of elders and dying well, the profound transformation potential of holotropic breathwork, spirit, the role of shamanism in society, Carl Jung’s shamanic initiation crisis, archetypes and the Jungian shadow as it relates to America’s collective psyche, and shamanic training and healing opportunities within the community. Enjoy!
