We'd love to hear what you think!
Sarah is a teacher turned coach for mothers who, after her own journey through postpartum depression and anxiety, is now a coach with a passion for helping mamas find their identity after baby. Our work is so aligned and this conversation is so important for mamas to be, new mamas, and experienced mamas alike to hear. I hope you enjoy the episode.
Here are this week’s key takeaways:
Admitting that we’re struggling to ourselves is the first step.
When you find that you’re struggling, ask for help in any way. People want to help. Start with small requests and work your way up to bigger asks if you have to. Keep track of what you need so if someone asks, you’re prepared with responses.
The idea of purpose for moms is so heavy. There doesn’t have to be ONE thing. Living your life doing what you enjoy is living in your purpose.
It is okay to set things down that no longer serve you. Beliefs, relationships, career goals, if it doesn’t light you up, let it go.
When it comes to hobbies, find something that lights you up inside. It doesn’t have to go anywhere, you can do an activity just for the sake of doing it. When figuring out what you want to do, ask yourself what did you want to do as a kid that you had to set down, or have you always wanted to do but have never been able to do?
Friends, if you’ve been listening you’ve heard this recurring theme of meditation. If you’re not meditating, please find a form that resonates with you and give it a try. Take the time to just be and exist.
There is so much growth in motherhood, and although parts of it do, in fact, suck, the woman you will become is so amazing.
You’re doing a good job. Even if it’s not to your standard, you’re trying. You’re doing a good job.
