Letters of Recommendation (LORs) should serve as a supporting document that helps demonstrate your medical competence for U.S. residency. Because of this, what is stated in your LORs is important, and is even more so depending on what type of NRMP Main Match applicant you are (medical student, medical graduate, or international). When LORs hold such weight, waiving your rights to see such documents, means you may potentially be giving up your right to catch any clerical errors (wrong designated specialty), or worse yet, a generic letter.

In today's episode, Dr. Mizani and Cody Phan discuss the pros and cons of not waiving your rights to see your LORs, and how "limiting" it is on your application.
