The Holy Spirit is a part of the trinity God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Spirit Holy Spirit. The three are one.

Holy Spirit is our seal of things to come. While we are on earth we are not physically in the presence of God but we have the Spirit of God working in and through us to keep us in alignment with being in the presence of God.

We first meet the Holy Spirit in the first two verses of the Bible

Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

  • God’s Spirit was actively involved in the creation of the World and wants to be actively involved in our everyday life. In us fulfilling God’s given purpose
  • V26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion
  • Here’s the thing we don’t know the image of God or His likeness apart from spending time with Him, apart from receiving salvation through Jesus and apart from the Holy Spirit leading and guiding us everyday
  • We are made in God’s image and likeness but we are blind to it until it is revealed
  • This is a daily process that the Holy Spirit helps us with
  • Being made in the image of God means we take on His characteristics as it pertains to our attitude and behavior.
