Update on the job search and my quest to get back into the workforce. The Nevada State Senate has passed a domestic partnership bill by a 12-9 margin--two shy of being veto-proof. The bill is expected to do well in the Assembly (not sure if it will pass), but Governor Jim Gibbons (R) has promised a veto, saying "I just don't believe in it." A quick check of his own biography reveals that his own experience with his opposite-sex marriage is not the shining example held up by his fellow conservatives, so it begs the question of exactly what model of marriage does he believe in?
