Episode 21 | Pierre Woods | Retired NFL Linebacker |

Listen Later

On Ep. 21 we have retired NFL linebacker Pierre Woods on the show to talk Cleveland culture in the late 80s/early 90s, being a trailblazer being one of the 1st players to attend a Big Ten university from an inner city high school and having major early success at the University of Michigan. Woods gives grave detail on why after being an All-Big Ten player his sophomore year he subsequently fell out the starting line up, played sparingly and mostly on special teams for his last 2 years. Going undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, Woods earned a roster spot with the New England Patriots and played 5 years for the organization including the 18-1 season in 2007 only losing one game which was in Super Bowl XLII. Woods gives an inside look on playing with and learning from Hall Of Fame linebackers like Teddy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Junior Seau (RIP) and playing with his Michigan brother Tom Brady alongside one of the best WRs to ever strap on a helmet in Randy Moss. A minimized subject, Woods talks about his transition away from the game and the struggles that come as athletes try to find themselves post playing career. Listen to a hometown hero tell his story his way. Don’t forget to rate this episode! πŸŽ™πŸŽ§πŸˆ Follow us on social media:
