I think it's because there's a certain kind of immigrant that is welcomed and a certain kind of immigrant that is not welcomed - like me. If you are European - if you are from the Netherlands, or Swedish or whatever, I think that it's an easier process than if you're like me -- or you're from another country where you are brown.
