Carter and Keri discuss the recent Cornell study that attempts to explain declining marriage rates by "large deficits in the supply of potential male spouses." According to its author, Dr. Daniel T. Litcher, "Many young men today have little to bring to the marriage bargain, especially as young women’s educational levels on average now exceed their male suitors.” We explore why that might be.
