In episode 211, "Ma Rainey, Ma Rainey Let Levee Complainey", Tony & Eddie discuss the Netflix breakout adaptation of, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020). This powerhouse cast features the late great Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis positively running a clinic on perfection. The entire film takes place in two rooms and is very much stage adaptation in how claustrophobic it feels - but these actors surely don't seem boxed in.
