This synth-pop hit was supposed to be a one-off single by this English duo. But it was so successful they decided to create a band and give it a go. It's writer was instrumental in putting Depeche Mode on the map and took the song for himself when they passed on it. It is short, sweet and simple. But is it "perfect"?
