On today's episode of 'What's on the Box?', we have look at some films that were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Motion Picture at the recent awards night. And no, there is little chance of me watching "Top Gun: Maverick" or "Avatar: The Way of Water" any time soon, so you can forget all about them. But I have managed to have seen three of those eight movies nominated. The eventual winner "Everything Everywhere All At Once", the Baz Luhrmann adaption of "Elvis", and the remake of the war novel "All Quiet on the Western Front". So to day we'll discuss these three very different films, and how (or whether) they qualify to be considered as 'Best Films' for the past 12 months. After this, I've also completed the new documentary on Netflix titled "MH370: The Plan That Disappeared" which delves into the many many scenarios and theories over the disappearance of this aircraft nine years ago, and whether it is worthy of your time. That's the content available for you on today's television related episode of the podcast that continues to offer opinions that no one cares about, Thoughts from the Metal Cavern.
