On Boxing Day 2011, twenty-three-year-old postgraduate student Anuj Bidve was walking through Ordsall, Salford with friends when he was shot dead in an unprovoked and motiveless attack. He had been in England for threemonths.
His killer, local factory worker Kiaran Stapleton, was convicted of murder in July 2012 and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of thirty years.
