This session will:

·  discuss methamphetamine trends in the community

·  discuss experiences with dealing with the rapid expansion of meth use/dealing-what

worked, what did not work well, information sharing, working with other entities to try and get a handle on meth

·  discuss crimes and other effects meth has had on the community since becoming a major problem in our area.

·  talk generally about what we have done to try and get a handle on meth use, dealing and the issues surrounding the drug and how it is unique in some ways

Guest: Robert Walensky, Tomah Police Department

Rob is a criminal investigator with the Tomah Police Department and has advanced/special training in various aspects of narcotics investigation, death investigations and cellular telephone forensics. He has investigated hundreds, if not thousands, of narcotics cases, processed well over 6500 cellular devices, attended well over 100 autopsies and been involved in many major criminal cases.  Rob is called upon to testify in courts in many different counties within Wisconsin and other states, as well as federal court at times related to drug and other investigations he is involved with. Rob serves on the Monroe County Joint Investigative Task Force and on the Board of the Wisconsin Narcotics Officers Association.
