Sarah Rose is a Portuguese singer, songwriter, and multi-media artist who uses art as a medium for change. Drawing from diverse influences from riot grrrl feminist punk, to hip hop and Islam, to jazz and bossa nova, Sarah Rose fuses the energy of resistance across time and space to create her own ethereal indie-jazz to continue the legacy in Hartford, CT. She performs regularly across the state of Connecticut and New York, with notable international performances in Bofete (São Paulo), Brazil and Montreál, Canada. In June 2016, Sarah Rose co-founded The Anti Division League, a grassroots collective of artists & musicians who combat social and racial injustice in our communities. In addition to music and organizing, Sarah Rose started business Sarah Rose Aromajewelry in 2018, where she makes and sells her one-of-a-kind, wire-wrapped essential oil diffuser necklaces and jewelry. Through diffuser necklaces, she seeks to share the healing experience of scent and the role they can play in reprogramming negative thought patterns through new associations and reconnect to the earth from which they came.
