Gate means "gone" or "dead." The whole mantra is - Gate Gate Paragate parasamgate bodhi swaha - It is part of the Buddhist Heart Sutra, which teaches the wisdom of emptiness. For me this means clearing all of the old and false stuff that I came into this life with and get back to my original perfection.
