Home and Void

Into the void,
set into as the thoughts of the day disappear,
as we ask ourselves why we were given this gift
to touch so many—
and yet things fall apart.

I mean, do you wonder?
I do.
But the void and the thoughts...
there’s nothing to tell.
Life runs its course.
F that, I say.

We surrender our knees to the ground,
lay our heads down in ruin,
bow to a higher plateau of thyself and ask:
Is it going to get easier?
Hell no.

There’s no noise—
just impatient silence,
as I go crazy and pick up the pen,
place it to the pad and paper.
Letting ourselves go through
the stresses of life
as we write our way home.

Reaching back to distant battles,
echoes in hand from so long ago.
On this rocky path,
with expression lighting our way—
we see shadows overturn
as we keep to the flow.

Darkness engrosses.
Demons walk.
We hide behind masks,
disguised in appearances.
But the rage lives on stage
