Hello and welcome to this week’s episode of Macabre for Mortals. This is going to be the last instalment into the series on Parole. I am going to be touching on in this episode on possibly a few other cases where parole might or might not have worked. But I am doing this in order to make or not make the case for parole.
I do believe that parole for certain crimes and if there has been adequate rehabilitation in Prison does work. However, for some criminals and some crimes I think that Parole is not something that should be offered.
My sources this week are:
There is a case for Parole - Peter Norton The Sydney Morning Herald 04/08/2013
Alternatives to parole and probation supervision. Improve safety and reduce costs. Justice Strategies by Judith Greene 27/04/2009
Suicide after release from prison - a population based cohort- study from Sweden. Haglund et al 2014 J. Clinical Psychiatry 2014 Oct 75(10) 1047-1053
Thank you for listening to another episode of Macabre for mortals. Next week I am going to be looking at a slightly lighter subject, and I will be discussing the myths and legends that surround mirrors.
If you have any questions or want to discuss parole any further then please drop me an email and [email protected]. Or give me a follow on Instagram at Macabre for mortals. I hope you have a fantastic week and I look forward to speaking to you in March.
