May 2021 saw yet another iteration of the historical conflict between Israel and Palestine although it could be argued that it is in fact a conflict between Israel and Hamas with the citizens on both sides simply being collateral damage. At the time of recording this, it is reported that the total number of civilian deaths stand at 213 Palestinians and 12 Israelis. From land disputes to blockades, rocket fire to missile strikes, this conflict continues to be seen through the lens of political advantage and not human suffering and it can be argued that it is all the fault of the British and the legacy of their empire. So in episode 23 we discuss some of the history that has fuelled this conflict and understand the role the British government played and what responsibility if any they have to come up with a viable solution. Additionally we have a look at some of the perceived barriers people tend believe exist when seen to be critiquing Israeli government actions compared to the free thinking criticisms that can be levelled at other regimes around the world
