Lori Lizarraga is a former Denver journalist. She claims company-wide guidelines toward covering immigrants and immigration issues were discriminatory. She says it discouraged Latina reporters from covering issues within those communities.
She says, for two years, she and her colleagues fought for equity and equality within the newsroom but were ultimately axed. The TV station got rid of her and two other Latina reporters in one year.
