The Project Based Awesome Podcast

Episode 2.3 (part 1): Good People, Good Times, Great Oldies

Listen Later

Last week, in the Project Based Awesome Podcast, Erin and Chris talked about setting up routines for classes at the beginning of the school year.
This week, Erin and Chris talk about grades! More specifically, they explore their thoughts on the overall purpose of grades and how it fits with what they do with Project Based Awesome. They touch on the fact that grades should be tied directly to standards, should truly communicate students’ academic abilities and skills and should not be tied to extraneous factors such as attendance or work ethic etc.
This is a pretty deep philosophical dive into Erin and Chris’ (and in turn PBA’s) beliefs of the purpose of grades and some of the discussion is challenging and difficult. It’s meant to be. We hope you enjoy our discussion on this topic.
Episode 2.3 is the first part of a two part podcast exploring this topic.
Enjoy
Until next time...peace.
