Happy New Year to the Beyond the Sidelines faithful! We're kicking 2020 off with a bang, as we sat down with Pavel 'The Bodyguard' Florin, a Romanian cricketer who quickly rose to fame after his unorthodox bowling style made its way around social media. But for all the talk about his bowling action, you won't find anyone who loves cricket more than Pavel - don't believe us? Well you'll have to listen to the interview to know for sure.

Pavel's story goes well beyond what goes on out in the middle. After stumbling upon cricket, Pavel soon personified what the spirit of the game really is. 

After playing in the European Cricket League, he had to overcome visa issues to come to Australia, after being invited to play for the Surrey Hills Cricket Club in Melbourne. 

He spent a month in Victoria, playing some form of cricket almost daily, as well as mingling with some of the greatest players to have ever played such as Shane Warne and Brian Lara.
