Forest service ranger in the northwest

Refined more and more through 1913, production began in 1920, national standard tool in the 30's

Can be used in multiple terrains

Cons

Not super effective at some tasks (clearing grass, duff, etc)

Shorter handle

Can require more sharpening

Two sharp parts, not just one, so twice the cut risk
