Storage Intensity

Episode 23 - Software-Defined Storage and Enterprise Flash - A Perfect Match?

Listen Later

Software-Defined Storage (SDS) is a concept whose time may have finally come, not only because the software itself is getting better but also because the hardware is much more capable. Modern solid-state drives (SSD) can generate hundreds of thousands of IOPS per drive, so storage systems no longer need proprietary hardware to meet performance expectations. The SDS software developers can focus their efforts on improving the efficiency in how they use storage resources. The combination means that customers can choose the exact hardware configuration they need to meet the demands of the organization.
Joining us in this episode of Storage Intensity is Kingston's Enterprise SSD Product Manager, Cameron Crandall. Listen in as George and Cameron discuss why now is the time for SDS.
