Texas has a long history of strange creature reports, some familiar, others barely remembered, and many that don’t fit neatly into any category at all.

In Texas Strangeness – Part 1, we’re laying the groundwork by cataloging the cryptids and unexplained creature sightings reported across the Lone Star State. This episode is a broad survey, covering the usual suspects alongside lesser-known encounters and one-off sightings that appeared briefly and then vanished from the record.

We’ll touch on:

• Well-known Texas cryptids like Bigfoot-type creatures, Dogmen, and anomalous predators
• Aquatic and river-bound creatures reported in lakes and waterways
• Hybrid and boundary beings tied to specific locations
• Little-known or “failed” cryptids that never developed into full legends

This isn’t about proving or debunking. It’s about mapping what’s been reported, where it happened, and how these sightings fit into the larger picture of Texas strangeness.

In the follow-up episode, we will finish up the cryptids and move into hauntings, UFO flaps, and the many other forms of weirdness the state is known for, but this first chapter is about the creatures themselves.
