Thisis an episode from 2023 and is the 1st of 3 episodes before Season 2. While Itypically stick to American History, I found Mary's story and contribution tohistory compelling and important to share as she was the first black women topublish an autobiography about her life as an enslaved person. I found herstory in the first source, a book called The Classic Slave Narratives, whereI was reading about Frederick Douglass. Thanks for listening to Mary's storyand be sure to check out the sources listed for additional information abouther. This episode covers heavy topics, so I’ve linked resources below for anyonewho is struggling and wants to seek help.

Ataytuned for Season 2 which airs on 1/29.
