Today on the podcast I am joined by Belfast Metal band, Shortest Straw!

Formed in 2024, Shortest Straw are carving their name into the UK/Ireland music scene with ambitions of showing international audiences how aggression should truly sound on stage. Combining a brutal mix of thrash, death, beatdown, and 00's metalcore with deeply emotional and story rich lyrics into a punishing sonic onslaught which compels two stepping, circle pits, and walls of death from even the most reluctant of showgoers.

For this episode the primary focus of the episode will be chatting about the band's debut EP, 'A New Normal', which is set to be released on August 11th. We'll be covering the themes the EP explores, the band's that inspired it's sound and how the EP was written, both lyrically and sonically.

The band will also be going on tour in support of the EP in August! Joining them on the tour will be Birmingham Hardcore band, Dead Mob and local legends Carynx. Tickets for that tour are on sale now!
