Previously an editor for Scholastic Inc., Callie Grant founded Graham Blanchard publishing company to create Christian content for new families. Callie co-founded the Newborn Promise Project, which serves expecting and new parents and their children. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and daughter.
“When you feel God wants a goal, the roadblocks are less scary”, Callie says during tales of the setbacks of starting a publishing company. She goes on to share of the grit that she found in her morning walks and studying the scriptures. Her daughter also joined her on these morning walks in utero and assisted her mom in writing many praise songs.
You will definitely want to give this episode a listen to hear the formative role that her daughter played in the company, the Holy Spirit-dream that she had, and encouragement for your own professional and personal setbacks. Callie’s a wordsmith by trade and by heart and with that said, your ears are in for a real treat!
Episode 24 teaches us that in writing and in life, one must “know when to leave some ambiguity, [and] know when to wrestle.”
