Listen Later

In this episode of Mending Creatively, we sit down with an aspiring writer to explore the highs, lows, and everything in between on the path to becoming a storyteller. From finding inspiration in the everyday to battling self-doubt, we get real about what it means to turn your passion into words on a page. Join us as we peel back the layers of the writing journey and talk about the courage it takes to share your voice with the world.

Michael Cortez was born and raised in Southern California and is a graduate of UCR's Creative Writing Program class of 2017. A fan of history, politics, science fiction, and horror, he is actively preparing for the eventual zombie apocalypse. His writing influences are Kurt Vonnegut, Samantha Irby, and Stephen King. When not writing, he likes to spend his time going to the beach and cuddling with Adele, his cat, best friend, and spiritual influence. He did not see snow until he was 21 years old. He now finds it overrated.
