What do you do when your 5-year-old yells "Quiet time! No one can talk. Quiet time!” whenever you try to have a conversation with your partner - how do you respond? It is important to remind yourself that many of the behaviors that toddlers typically display are, more often than not, age appropriate and par for the course for the age. It doesn't make it any easier to deal with but it does help you feel that you are not alone and there is nothing "wrong" with your toddler. In this episode, I respond to this mom who wrote to me with this challenge and gave her some ideas that she can try to incorporate into her parenting.
