THE JOY OF FAITHFUL AND CHEERFUL GIVING: WONDERFUL PRINCIPLES TO EMBRACE by Vincent Onyebuchi Nwankpa, PhD  Few subjects generate more controversy and are addressed less frequently than that of Christian giving. Seldom does the church deal honestly or at all with this most important aspect of a believer ‘s discipleship in Christ. Dr. Nwankpa has sounded a clear and gracious voice in bringing this discussion to the table.Clearly written and down-to-earth, this book deals with how things really are in the church regarding money, giving, and living a life that honors the Lord and participates in His kingdom work. Vincent has done us a great favor by providing a sound biblical perspective on giving. His research, practical wisdom, and long experience as a seasoned follower of Jesus and minister of the gospel provide solid help for local and parachurch leaders.Be warned. Absorbing this book will challenge the reader’s own values. Do we possess our riches, or do they possess us? One should be prepared to engage personally in order to gain the most benefit from this wonderful resource of information, perspective, and biblical insight. The book encourages people to know that we are all stewards of what God has given to us. We are to give our tithes and offerings as unto the Lord. We are to give according to how the Lord has prospered us, generously, bountifully, cheerfully, and not grudgingly or sparingly. When we giveto support God’s work in the church, organizations, and individuals, God is the one who rewards us according to how we have given (I Corinthians 8 & 9:6-7). He or She who sows sparingly will in return reap sparingly, while he or she who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. There are good and bad motives of giving. We shouldn’t give to get recognition or accolade. There will be no reward for such giving. Let’s give in secret and God will reward us openly, good measure pressed together, overflowing. Let’s give faithful and cheerful to the LordAuthor Bio: Dr. Vincent Onyebuchi Nwankpa holds a Bachelors of Theology degree from ECWA Theological Seminary Igbaja, Nigeria, a B.
