The Listening Chair

Episode 25: Betsy and Greg Ball - Professional Nomads

Listen Later

“When you sell all of your belongings, and start your own travel business in Europe, you quickly realize that you can survive on a lot less than you thought you could,” say founders and owners of Euro Travel Coach, Greg and Betsy Ball.
Theirs is a family run business focused on making travel dreams come true by offering travel coaching services, custom itinerary planning, and small-group guided tours. Before founding Euro Travel Coach in 2016, Betsy was a business professor and Greg was the Jazz Band Director, both at Tarleton State University.
When they retired from teaching, they sold their house and most of their stuff and are now traveling full time. They spend most of the year in Europe. They volunteer for wineries, housesit, teach English as a second language and altogether believe that, “Committing to traveling, and sacrificing materialistic things is a way to trust, and store up treasures in heaven.”
Greg and Betsy have two children, Chelsea, who is also a member of Euro Travel Coach and currently lives in Bristol, England, and David, who is an actor living in Kentucky. Beyond travel, the Ball family loves music, cooking, and hiking together. If you’d like to find out more about their adventures, you can find them on Facebook & Instagram, or at EuroTravelCoach.com
This episode will leave you shocked to hear of how few pants they own, encouraged by their tales of religion in different cultures and inspired to take a leap of faith of your own. And if your leap of faith involves Europe, shoot her an email at [email protected]. She would love to hear from you.
