NFL really took off Down Under a few years ago when the Hayne Plane left Australia and landed in San Francisco. Since, we've seen Jordan Mailata sign for the then Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles, and State of Origin star Valentine Holmes get so close to making the final roster with the New York Jets.

Matt Leo is no different. He grew up playing amateur Rugby in Adelaide, but moved over to the States to pursue this dream from the college level.

Like Mailata and Holmes, Leo was selected for the NFL International Player Pathway Program late last week - getting one step closer to making it. In a matter of months, Leo will likely be drafted or signed in Free Agency by any of the 32 NFL franchises.
