Of the many animals mentioned in the Bible, such as the lamb and the lion, Jesus chooses a most unlikely animal to compare himself: a hen.  A hen that gathers her chicks under her wings for protection.   Reverend Shelley McVea offers insight into the ways that Jesus protects us in his mercy.
