At the location of the now-closed Hotel Obsidian, the fourth season of Umbrella Academy opens with Abigail and the gang parting ways, both without their powers and ignorant of Hargreeves' authority over the city. We catch up with each group member after a six-year gap to learn about their present circumstances. Jean and Gene proceed to the parking lot, where they exchange various items for a deal with an enigmatic stranger. It quickly becomes clear that these goods have been smuggled into other worlds, and they grab the equipment for themselves after ruthlessly murdering the vendor.
