Suicide is one of the leading cause of death in the US claiming over 45,000 lives each year and is the second leading cause of death for people aged 15-24. Globally there are nearly 800,000 people who die by suicide each year, which is roughly one death every 40 seconds.
Every 28 seconds, someone attempts suicide, approx 123 Americans die by suicide every day, which is one death every 12 minutes.
Male suicide rates are more than 3x to 4x that of females, men feel there is a stigma when discussing their mental health.
40% of those identifying as transgender has attempted suicide in their lifetime.
